June. Main tube to Urganji has been constructed allthough in very difficult natural invironment, and according to a recent test it is functioning well.
December. Nowadays the tubes in the streets of Urganji still are under construction.
Government started to asphalt the roads in Urganji, which is a great benefit for the village of course, but progress of our project is being a bit delayed by this.
Meantime new houses are under construction. villagers building these themselves,of selfmade stones, from the bakery built of dollarspeculation money, risen of CAAF funds.
The weather is holding fine, and no frost.

Juni.De hoofdleiding naar Urgandji is gelegd, hoewel door heel moeilijk terrein, en uitgeprobeerd. Hij functioneert goed.
December.Nog worden de straten van Urgandji van leidingen voorzien.
Ondertussen is de overheid dar bezig met het asfalteren van de straat, wat natuurlijk een geweldige vooruitgang voor het dorp betekent, omdat de straten nu ook in de winter berijdbaar en begaanbaar zullen zijn Maar de voortgang van ons project wordt er enigszins door gehinderd.
Men is intussen ook bezig in Urgandji zelf nieuwe huizen bij te bouwen, van stenen die zelfgebakken zijn, uit de oven die door middel van valutaspeculatie met het geld van CAHF is gebouwd.
Het weer blijft goed , met temperaturen boven nul.

Tubes for Urganji have been bought/ Waterleidingbuis voor Urganji is gekocht
The money we transferred to Uzbekistan is released by Uzbek government to be used for Urganji’s water tubes. Immediately after this, tubes for Urganji are bought in Tashkent and transported the 24 hours’ transport to the waterplace. The weather is still good, but it is becoming very cold. It is not certain the digging in of the tubes can start right now./
Het geld wat we hebben opgestuurd, is vrijgegeven door de Oezbeekse regering om te gebruiken voor de aanleg van drinkwaterleiding voor Urganji. Meteen nadat het geld was vrijgegeven voor gebruik zijn in Tashkent de leidingen gekocht, en vandaar was het 24 uur rijden om ze ter bestemder plaatse te krijgen. Omdat het koud wordt, is het niet zeker of de leidingen nu ook meteen ingegraven kunnen gaan worden.

‘Lochem Actief’ market in Lochem and ‘GoedeDoelenMarkt’ in Lochem. Both markets are offering good opportunities to give information about the activities of our organisation. Besides these kind of markets give CAAF some income like gifts and sales of uzbek handicraft: For both markets , total income was x80106,60. This is much less than was the case last year /
‘Lochem Actief in Lochem, en de GoedeDoelenMarkt in Lochem. Beide markten geven een prima gelegenheid om informatie over ons werk te geven. Behalve dat kregen we giften en verkochten we oezbeeks handwerk, met een totaalopbrengst van x80 106,60. Dit is veel minder dan vorig jaar.
Toza Tabiat: Ways to pay the bills/ Manieren om de rekeningen te betalen
Bad news: Toza Tabiat once a year collects the money for the use of Toza Tabiats’ drinking water, This is the first time of this collecting money from the inhabitants of Darveshi village. Most people pay without hesitation, but some people do not pay. These are not the poor people, but the richer ones, who do not wish to pay their fair share untill now. These people have a water cellar, and they fill their water cellar and feel they can do as they wish. This problem is allso known in Shofircha, and not yet solved. Besides: Last spring a large stretch of the wall surrounding the water place has come down, due to a neighbours’ irrigation water. The wall has been rebuilt on a u-formed fundament, as to protect the fundament of the wall from the pressure of irrigation water. Drain tubes will be made too. Stones for the building of the wall have been baked in a home made stone bakery, next to our water tower. Pictures of the repaired wall:/ Slecht nieuws: Dit is het eerste jaar dat door Toza Tabiat geld ingezameld kan worden voor de levering van het drinkwater, onder de bewoners van Darvesha. De meeste mensen betalen meteen, maar een aantal weigert tot nu toe. Dit zijn niet de armen, maar een aantal rijkeren die niet betalen, omdat zij een waterkelder hebben, die zij kunnen laten vullen. Dit is ook in Shofircha een probleem, wat nog niet is opgelost. Bovendien: Afgelopen voorjaar is een groot deel van de omringende muur naar beneden gekomen door de druk van het irrigatiewater in het naastgelegen landbouwperceel. Nu is een u-vormige fundering gemaakt, om te voorkomen dat de fundering opnieuw gaat schuiven. De stenen voor het opnieuw opbouwen van de muur zijn zelf gebakken, in een zelfgebouwde steenbakkerij, naast onze watertoren. Foto’s van de opnieuw opgetrokken muur:
After the repair of the wall, there was the stone bakery, made to bake stones for the repair. Nowadays Toza Tabiat is baking stones there, to make some money to pay regular bills, f.i. use of electricity and use of gaz. It is not big money, but provides a regular income. This is one way, Toza Tabiat has found to exploit the drinking water installment.Picture of the stone bakery: / Na de reparatie van de muur is de steenbakkerij dienst blijven doen om stenen te bakken voor de verkoop. Daarmee wordt het geld verdiend wat nodig is om de rekeningen te betalen voor electriciteit en gas etc.. Zo kan de watervoorziening in stand blijven. Foto van de steenbakkerij:
Near Urganji a cellar for the taps has been made, in which are connected the main tube for Urganji village, the main tube for Darveshi village, the main tube to the water tower, a tap to let flow the ait out of the tubes, and now allso the tube to the ons street which has been provided with tubes and taps. Now allso a connection has been made for filling tankwagons. These tankwagons can come to take in water for some waterless houses and villages nearby. This is another way to bring in some money for Toza Tabiat.Allso an earthen bridge has been made, to shorten the road from the main road to Jondor, to make it more easy for tankwagons to come and fill. However, most drivers still find it more attractive to fill in Shofircha, because this place is next to the asphalted road. Toza Tabiat therefore has to be more cheap to be attractive. Pictures: / Bij Urganji is een put waar de (hoofd-)leidingen samenkomen, en waar ook een ontluchtingskraantje zit, alsmede nu ook de leiding naar die ene straat in Urganji die al voorzien is van waterleiding en kranen. Nu is er ook een kraan om tankwagens te vullen, die huizen en dorpen in de omgeving van water voorzien. Dit is een andere manier die bedacht is om inkomsten voor Toza Tabiat te krijgen. Echter moet Toza Tabiat onder de prijs gaan zitten, omdat de tankwagens in Shofircha gemakkelijker kunnen gevuld worden, omdat dit aan de verharde weg ligt. Er is een duiker in het irrigatiekanaal gelegd, om de afstand tot de verharde weg voor tankwagens te bekorten, maar dat heeft niet veel geholpen. Foto’s :
Positive influence of our project. Meantime the process of building of our waterplace has a positive influence on the young people in the village. They see now change for the better is possible indeed. Some of them made quite moving personal testimonies of this kind In our project they find adventure, the possibility to work and learn at the same time, and to make themselves usefull for public affairs. Another positive side- effect of the presence of our waterplace, is, that municipality gave pieces of land to build houses there, near our water tower, and young families decide to come back to the village and start building their houses there. / Gunstige invloed van ons project. Ondertussen heeft de bouw van onze waterwinplaats een positieve invloed op de jonge mensen in het dorp. Zij zien nu dat een ontwikkeling ten goede mogelijk is. Sommigen hebben wat dit betreft roerende persoonlijke getuigenissen In ons project vinden zij uitdaging, de mogelijkheid om een vak te leren, zich te ontwikkelen, en zich nuttig te maken voor een publieke zaak. Het is ook weer eens wat anders dan het gewone boerenwerk. Nog een positief gevolg van de bouw van de waterwinplaats is dat de gemeente bouwgrond heeft uitgegeven, in de buurt van de watertoren, aan jonge gezinnen die zich opnieuw in het dorp willen vestigen, en daar hun huis willen bouwen. News about our moneytransfer to Uzbekistan We visited our project to see present state of affairs, and allso hoping that our visit would shorten the period of screening by uzbek government. Tashkent Ministry sent two employees to see our project, and they are very happy about our project, saying that our project has the seldom quality of being successfull. We are hoping this conclusion allso will shorten the period of waiting for Toza Tabiat./Nieuws over onze overboeking naar Oezbekistan We bezochten ons project om te zien welke ontwikkelingen zich in de tussentijd hebben voorgedaan, en zeker ook in de hoop dat ons bezoek de screeningsprocedure door de oezbeekse overheid wat zou bespoedigen. Het Ministerie in Tashkent heeft twee ambtenaren gestuurd om ons project te beoordelen, en het resultaat was zeer lovend. Daarom ook hopen en verwachten wij, dat Toza Tabiat niet al te lang meer op het geld hoeft te wachten.
NOVIB subsidie/NOVIB subsidy
OXFAM/ NOVIB, a combined American-Netherlands NGO will subsidize Urgandji’s drinking water installment!
23 september NOVIB subsidy arrived on CAAF account, and 28 september we ordered our bank to take the necessary money out of our savings’account and to send the amount for Urgandji to Uzbekistan. According to our bank, this process will take 3 weeks, so arrival in Uzbekistan will be about half october./
NOVIB gaat de drinkwatervoorziening van Urgandji subsidieren!
23 sept. was het geld op onze rekening, en 28 sept. hebben we de bank opdracht gegeven het nodige van onze spaarrekening te halen en het bedrag voor Urgandji naar Oezbekistan te sturen. Dit zal 3 weken duren, volgens de bank, dus ongeveer half oktober zal het geld er aankomen.
Making gaz, gasaanleg
Gaz tubes are made to connect to the waterplace and the guardhouse/ Gas-aanleg naar de waterwinplaats en het wachthuisje.

Openingsfeest/ Opening party
Openingsfeest op 7 november 2008: onze drinkwaterinstallatie is op 7 november 2008 ingewijd met een kleine plechtigheid en een feest voor allen die eraan hebben meegewerkt, waarbij enkele prominenten aanwezig waren, w.o. de burgemeester.
